Underwater lighting

Often when moored, we see yachts with beautiful underwater electrical lighting systems. I would like to enjoy some of that ambiance without cutting any new holes in my hull or spending a (pardon the expression) boat load of money. Iím sure I can tie some line onto a couple of waterproof flashlights and hang them overboard/underwater, but Iím not sure itíll have the same effect. Any ďbright ideasĒ?

Re: Underwater lighting

The ambience lighting I've seen requires cutting holes. That said there are lots of underwater lights you hang in the water for shrimping...especially on the St. Johns in FL.

Re: Underwater lighting

This topic shows my Lumitec SeaBlazeX lamp installation.

Whenever I drill below-waterline holes, I first drill them slightly oversize, then use West System w/ filler, to refill the holes, allow it to harden, then drill it the correct size.

This process has been problem-free for me.

Re: Underwater lighting

No holes are needed! There's a couple from Wa that designed a magnetic through the hull lighting system! It's not spendy at all and easy to install
