So far, im very impressed and have been trying it out on my marina WIFI connection in Spain with no problems. For the UK audience, you get ALL the main channels, BBC, ITV, CH4, etc and even 'Dave' which has some great shows like Top Gear, QI, etc.

No, of course, it's not free but at 149 GBP for the year, it's not expensive either.

Up untill now, where i've not had a TV hook up, i've been paying 60 GBP per year for a UK 'proxy server' that gives me a UK IP add' to allow me to watch online content like BBC iPlayer but Filmon gives you much more choice and also nice features like being able to set your computer to actualy record content as well to watch later.
