any SKF bearing shop will be able to match the seals, just replace the mild steel spring with an O'ring to maranise it

Re: spot the boatman!
Just to return the favor Phil, we had a lovely lunch at Namaste today. Great as always! And the AC didn't hurt either.

Boatie,
Wottie's going to turn you into a mechanic yet!
Soon you'll be fit to travel again.
Cheers, mate,

Re: spot the boatman!
Talked with Phil the Boatie earlier.
Seems he has managed to fettle the water pump using a variety of close matching seals and bits and bobs. Net result, its not leaking anymore. In taking a look at the weather, heavy northerlies tomorrow, so Thursday is earliest he can leave if the weather changes.
Less than a hundred miles to home port and Im sure he is chafing at the bit.
More news as it comes.

Re: spot the boatman!
It has been an epic journey, 89 days and counting
If his journey was a non-stop solo circumnavigation and he finishes within the next 4 days, then he'd be breaking the 2001 Vendee Globe record, with only competitors in later races going faster.
Go boaty
It would suck if he left Malta on the same day the Vendee Globe started with the intention of getting to his home port to watch them as they finished there.

The way things are going I'll be lucky to leave by then, forget arriving at the next port Just had 3 weeks of no mast and did not get to do everything as originally planned
