Re: Songs To Sail By
I know this song is about being on the go in a motorhome, but I like it for cruising, so just visualize sailing. Home is being mobile.
Hippy Gypsy fits me, and I love the phrase "Watch the police and taxman miss me".

Re: Songs To Sail By
I'm with you. You can't beat Jimmy to make you think of islands, beaches and boating.

Re: Songs To Sail By
Re sailing music and local color/culture. Check out "Andy Palacio". His untimely death made his music much more popular. Good stuff....unless you speak Garifuna you won't get the lyrics, but the music alone is quite nice.
If you enjoy the Buffet-Like genera then "Jim White" has some good and often comic tunes.
For heavy-weather and/or high-performance sailing -- something like Def Leppard is good match!
