Searching 4 the holy grail of quality T.V reception

For a long time I have been trying to get HD TV at a cheap and hassle free installation on my yacht, recently I have been watching tv on my iPad using the tiven wifi which works pretty good most of the time, I found if on shore and I stuck the tiven antennae into the tv coax cable( mind you they don't fit and needs persuasion) I would get all tv station and be able to watch nearly 70% of them without dropping out. So I bought a splitter box to hook into my VHF anntane on my mast here are the results. ( tests where done at manly habour where there is a tv reception black spot).
Tivizen sitting on chart table with no cable connected, O channels found.
Tivizen connected to VHF splitter box, 3 channels found, 3 viewable .
Tivizen connected to VHF splitter box , VHF radio turned on, 8 channels found, 3 viewable .
I have contacted tivizen and they where no help in assisting me in making any modifications, but I am sure there is many of you out there who have the know how to improve on my success , soon will be wiring in a tv amplifier between the splitter box and tivizen to see the next round of results.

We had the same problem with our HD in marina Del Rey, Ca. when the US went digital. We installed satellite; the cost? "The Good Wife" for my good wife; priceless.

The only true HD reception is over the air. Even satellite and cable transmissions are compressed to some extent. Use a dedicate TV antenna, preferably an omnidirectional, and get it as high as possible. It only needs to be compatable with VHF and UHF TV signals. You don't need a "digital" antenna, actually there is no such thing, it's just marketing hype. If you are on a fringe area for reception, a signal booster will help. Chuck

If you are interested, I have a Direct TV M3 Satellite, receiver, and instructions. It's all 12 volts. I would love to sell it.

Sounds interesting capacolla, what sort of price are you happy with, I feel unfortunately this might be only for the USA , happy to hear your thoughts, cheers.

I'm pretty certain that this will only work in the US. Its geared towards Direct TV, a satellite provider here in the states. I'm asking $1200.00.
