Re: Seafarer’s Songs

One of the best - "Cool Change" by Little River Band...it's like my signature song.

"Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" by Gordon Lightfoot...a classic

Also for a fun one don't forget "Whale of a Tale" sung by Kirk Douglas in Disney's 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. It's a hard one for me to play and sing but I'm working on it.

Re: Seafarer’s Songs

Kate Rusby's "Sleepless Sailor" is not really a sailing song. It's more of an "evening at anchor with a bottle of Islay single malt" song.

And although way overdone, this Larson's boat promo with her song in the background is hard not to like if you've spent 50+ years around small boats - like me. I think they've got my old 1960's Evinrude outboard....I was eight years old and it was as hard to start as the outboard I've got today on the RIB

Wow, I can't believe I forgot about "Brandy." I love that song.

I was even considering it for my boat name, but decided I liked the name she came with, and went with tradition !

Re: Seafarer’s Songs

Thank you, everyone.
On a hunch I looked deeper into Stephen Stills, and found a little gem, “The Lee Shore”
