Sailors Sayings Needed

Hello, not sure where to post this, hope this is ok.

I recently bought a flask that I am gifting to a long time captain who is my hubby's Sea-Daddy.

I want to get it engraved with something fitting.
I Googled Sailors Prayers and Psalms and such but everything was too long.
I need something short and sweet. So I figured you all would know little one-liners or any short sayings I could use.

The flask is a smaller one.

Red sky at night, sailor's delight

Red sky in the morning, sailor's warning

Even this one is kind of long......i2f

You must know the sea,
And know that you know it,
And know that it was meant to be sailed upon.

I'm a real book nut and my favorite book is "The Quotable Sailor" by Caswell
I cannot pick a favorite out of the book but here is a couple

I cannot not sail.
EB White

Up that rigging, you monkeys. Break out those sails and let them fill with the wind to carry us all to freedom.
Errol Flynn as Captain Blood

"You do not ask a tame seagull why it needs to disappear from time to time toward the open sea. It goes, that's all."
Bernard Moitessier

Never a ship sails out of the
bay, but carries my heart as a stowaway

Interesting subject.
It seems that "bottoms up" would be inappropriate.

All great , thanks... Ive been told by MY Captain that since Captain John isn't a Sailor, as in having a sailboat, I should find something more Captainy and less Sailory.

He has been a Captain for 30 years , more or less a Tug-boat Captain. He owns a trawler and lives on it...so he is a man of the sea deep down to his core.

The engraving has to be perfect......anymore ideas?

I wish I could fit the whole thing on a flask.

Sailors pray,
For fair winds and a following sea

The smell of salt in the air,
The feel of their skin as it's touched by the spray

An albatross soaring above,
Dolphins in the ship's wake at play

To witness a work of art that only God can create,
The sunset at the end of day

At night a million stars in the sky,
Safe anchorage in an islands lee

When the time comes to die as for all it must,
To awake in Sailors Heaven where nothing ever rusts

And always there would be,
Fair winds and a following sea
