Sailing to the Faroes and a Question re Gyroscopic Stabilisation

A nice vid with no T & Bs.......

His stabilisation system has impressed me..... and I want one....

I'm finding quite a few out there but all I have found so far are hand held.

Has anyone found a good one that can be rail mounted?

Really nice feel to it, too.

Thanks, El Ping.

Beautiful Video and nicely put to music - my only comment is that as a single hander I would have liked to have seen him wearing a harness when he set the spinnaker - he was wearing one in rougher weather.

A good illustration of why some of us are attracted to high latitudes.

Re: Sailing to the Faroes and a Question re Gyroscopic Stabilisation

Very nicely done video! The stabilized camera really gives you a sense of motion as the boat moves thru the water. Perhaps he used the drone for onboard shots since it has a stabilizer.

You're absolutely right, Mr O, it does portray the motion and sea states very well. Also, when he's cooking, it comes through, too. It's part of one's experience, and most evocative.

Interesting about the drone stabilizer. I hope El Pinguino finds one to suit him, may require him to invent the rail mount, though.

He is using a Zhiyun Crane 3-axis stabilizer and a Sony cam per one of the replies in the comments section of the video (available on Amazon). Impressive.

Ah... missed that comment... only saw this one 'yes I used a small gimbal'.....

Hmmmmm.... $549 on Amazon.... bit outside my budget for use on a $99 SJCam 4000.......

The search continues.........

Excellent footage there, for sure!

El P, wouldn't a fishing rod holder be a decent rail mount for the hand held stabilizers?
