I just finished Neil Barry's Chicken of the Sea
(Amazon kindle only). Don't be fooled by the title or the cover. Nothing in this book is what it seems, yet it is so believable you will think it is non-fiction. What begins as a home-made boat and a voyage around the world (both Slocum-influenced), is actually far more intriguing. Murder and mystery, house fires, missing relatives, storms, even an emergency
appendix operation; I thought I had it figured out at the end, only to discover it is the first book in a trilogy. After reading the first chapter of the second book, I am eagerly awaiting its release. My personal opinion; this will become a nautical classic. It will keep you reading late at night.
