Nazare Boatfestival 2015

G'day mates,

we didn't manage to get everything organized as we were hoping for, so the "real 1st" one will take place in 2016.

However, who ever happens to be in the area is welcome to join in:

15th and 16th of August in Nazare/Portugal

Bring good humour, your music-instruments if you've got any, and something funny!

Fair winds
Dody and the cruising-sailors of Nazare

PS:
- provided there is enough interest we'd like to organize a little boatjumble for Sunday midday/afternoon
- possibly, but we're still in the process of negotiating, we might manage to get your berth free of charge for the weekend, x your fingers for us please!!!!

Re: Nazare Boatfestival 2015

Hey, you're just about 40 miles up the coast from us, great, you're welcome of course!!!! Maybe you can spread the word a bit up there in Figueira da Foz, would be really funny if we could start some exchange between us cruisers stationed for the moment along this coast, I love that idea!!!

Some time next week we'll have a little poster printed. Our friends from the fishing-boats who fish out of Nazare but live in Vila do Conde and Peniche will put it up in the Marina in Povoa de Varzim and Peniche when they go home to their families for the weekend. And, since yesterday, my neighbour got his big trawler delivered from Vigo, crew half Galician, half from Leixoes. They're gonna take some with them when going home.

We'll see what happens :-) !

Cheers & fair winds

hahhhaaahhhaaa water-samples, this sounds like being good fun (Hm, I hope it is for him!!!)! Great & thanks mate!

Just got new neighbours from Peniche, very keen to be back in the water next week (had a bit of a touch-and-go with some rocks in the Berlingas) but determined to be here for the Festival. And a german couple who's in Sines at the mo and love the idea. So, we're not on our own any more!!!!

Re: Nazare Boatfestival 2015

UPDATE

less than 1 week to go, here's the update:

1. yes, we managed! All boats coming here for the Nazare Boatfestival 2015 will get free berthing in the Marina Nazare during the festival from Friday to Monday (3 nights). You will still have to go through the normal check-in procedure and you will still have to leave a refundable deposit for the shower-key, but you won't be charged for this period.

2. we've got seating and decoration sorted out.

3. we'll all be preparing some salad or whatever for the community, maybe you could bring something as well.

4. there will be ice to keep our drinks fresh, we'll have beer and red wine and a box to donate for the costs of the drinks.

5. to keep the mess a bit at bay we would like everyone to bring their own glasses and plates

Cheers & happy sailing, hope to see some of you around for the Festival!
