general query-meaning of 555?

I surely don't. You say "555" to me and I think "the 555 timer circuit."

A 555 can be set up with very few external components to be a bistable, monostable, or astable multivibrator.

It's truly one of the must useful little IC's out there.

The only association of 555 I've ever seen was the cigarette brand. The box said 25mg tar, but I suspect it really was 555mg. One of those and you could repair a pothole simply by spitting in it. Perhaps they've advertised on sails somewhere...actually not a bad idea for a market, you could fix a leaky deck quickly...

It has some biblical meanings I think, someone who paid a lot more attention in church would have to confirm it.
It also used to be a very popular race number for all types of racing so maybe there has been a few famous race boats with that number? The old triple nickel .

Sea Tiger 555 windlass was very popular in the old days. 5 by 5 means you are loud and clear during radio talk.

Probably a lot more meanings in different parts of the world.

555 is an alternate version of lol, usually with someone who speaks Thai.
The Thai word for 5 is pronounced "ha", so three of them would be pronounced "hahaha"
