Wrap your snorkle with enough closed cell foam to float both it and the mask. Duct tape it on , and it will never sink again.

It would probably also be very awkward to wear, uncomfortable to use, and unusable for diving. You know what else works. Just keep your mask on until you're out of the water, and then put it someplace where it won't go for a swim on its own.

Never noticed any difference wearing it.You don't even notice the foam.

Ok, now that I read it again, I see the foam is just on the snorkel.
Still gotta be a PITA if even possible at all to get below the surface with it?

I'd rather just get my other mask, and even a small tank and do a quick dive, in the unlikely event.

That's one hell of a free diving capability. Good on ya.

Personally, I rarely drop my mask and I find if I do, it doesn't sink immediately and is very easy to just grab.

When coming to the surface and getting out of the water. Just take off mask and slide it up on your arm. And you will never drop it.

I never have to buy a snorkle because I find so many on the bottom. Duct tape and water! How is that working out?

Duct tape seems to last a very long time in water.
I have found a lot of charter boat masks and snorkles on the bottom.

Mine has a foam pad cushion thingy for the strap that I bought for comfort and flotation. Just threaded the strap thru it. No tape. I thought they were commonly known.

Probably pretty good. Although I'm not a fan of it, it isn't unheard of for divers to use duct tape on their gear. Mainly on fin straps and mask straps.

What's a weight belt? I floating back plate would be nice, though.
