Entertaining, Ridiculous News Stories about the sea.

Comments made in daily newspapers relating to matters of sailors often contain in-accurate, ridiculous, but laughable conclusions.
Your favorite stories ?

Some years ago, the QE2 lost power south of Bermuda, and took a tow from another cruise ship.
A local reporter, interviewing the Capt asked if it was a "sparking plugs" problem.

No, nothing so complicated as the sparking plugs. We simply broke the pull rope on the outboard and didn't have a spare...

Thats no excuse, unscrew the starter cover and use any small rope. Come to think about it, I never saw any rope on the Queen Mary, only chain the size of your head.
