Re: Clothing Optional Boating / Sailing in NY

My wife thought I was crazy from the first time I mentioned I wanted to try sailing naked. Even crazier the first time I simply shed the laundry and did it.

Since then, threads like this and stuff she's seen on facebook have vindicated me. This article she stumbled across said 68% of people who sail do so naked at some point:

Warning ... eye candy.

Re: Clothing Optional Boating / Sailing in NY

As a future solo sailor, i can not see me running around naked on the boat.
Have seen numerous videos of solos get some cut or broke bone from not wearing some clothes or shoes. To me i can't do that and feel a tad protected.

If i was to put to a bare minimum on what i would wear would be deck shoes, boxer briefs and gloves. At anchor, at least the briefs and shoes.

Re: Clothing Optional Boating / Sailing in NY

Naked sailing is liberating, to a point and we look forward to shedding our clothes as soon as we get to the boat. But actually sailing somewhere is WORK and requires pockets for stuff. Things that stick out or dangle can and do get scuffed, hit, pinched etc. Shoes and shorts for me when I'm working on deck. Soon as the work is over though...... everything comes off. The breeze across everything is just too nice.

Wifey B: We never cook or grill naked. Always an apron.

I just bought a sailboat on the south shore of LI and plan to go nude next summer as much as I can without getting nailed by the cops.

Gives a whole new meaning to those dangling things we call Tell-tales.

Especially if it hardens up to a broad reach! [emoji4]

lol!!! Nude time would only be good for when your motoring or anchored up.. Too many ways to damage the goods...

Re: Clothing Optional Boating / Sailing in NY

Hey sorry I didn’t get back sooner! No boat at the moment redoing our home first.. But I can tell you that my wife has been pushing me to get another boat after seeing your fishing pics with no shirt on lol..

She said having you as a nude deck hand is total eye candy for her and you would be welcome any day... She doesn’t understand why a you handsome guy like you don’t have a boatload of young girls ... So thank you for making her want to have a boat again lol!!!!! But unfortunately it’s gonna be awhile till we’re back in the game... Hope it works out for you best of luck !!!!
