Caribbean Dominoes...
Hi all! Dont ask me why, but I've taken a fancy to learning and playing Domino games of the Caribbean. Anyone else out there play? I know that there are some serious domino players out there throughout the islands...Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Dominican republic and Cube come to mind. I'd love to hear your experiences out there while cruising. As for my NEW dominoes, I found a great guy on eBay who custom engraves almost anything on the back of a domino...check out the AWESOME job he did with my boat logo and name!
EDIT: I cannot currently post the picture, but I will as soon as the feature is fixed...

I am a serious Domino enthusiast. If you are interested in Caribbean Dominoes I think you will find the following site interesting: Jamaican Dominoes.
The video about Caribbean Dominoes in London is very funny. There are also a lot links there and rules as well. If you like to play online, there are also links relating to that.
Cheers!

Sure I played dominoes with locals on Curacao. You don't have a chance... with 5 tiles left in my hand and four players (so just played two tiles), this guy already know every one of the other 5 plays and claims the round. We check it and he's right ;-) Takes a liftime to get to that level I think.
It's much like checkers... looks so simple until you play someone who really knows the game.
cheers,
Nick.

I have played in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands.
Time flies when you're drinking rum, slamming dominoes on a table and swimming with bow legged women!

Go to any taxi-stand in the BVI and you'll be welcomed into any game - and severely thrashed each time!

There are several books out there on domino strategy. I'm going to have to read a few to accelerate my knowledge. I'll never catch up just starting at 47!

Hello Guys,
How's the Xmas season treating y'all?
On the subject of dominoes I found another nice link on Squidoo that may be of interest to everyone.
It's about a version of dominoes that the hollywood stars like to play.
The link is:
Hollywood Domino
Cheers!

Used to play a bit down in Thailand. Always for money Took me a while to get the hang of the local version that went up to 9
But eventually I used to end up pretty even (I deliberately never won big), used to puzzle those locals who saw me as "the mark" ........the secret was to play doubles
