Can Justin Bieber use a tour in the Marines

Considering that it looks like our government is trying its best to get us in a war with the Russians and all I see in the news is endless stories about the spoiled, self-entitled little prick, Justin Bieber it makes me want to wretch up a hairball. So as I was sitting in the cabin this morning reflecting upon the plight of mankind I came to the realization that maybe a tour with the Marine Corps Infantry in some combat zone like Afghanistan might be just the thing to square Justin away.

So come on my fellow CF's and chime in on this and let me know if this is an inspired idea.

Well, as much as I hate to admit it, he's CANADIAN, so I don't think he's eligable for the marines.

I'm pretty sure he could not make in the Canadian military either. I'm including the "military reserves" in that statement as well.

I think the military could be good for a lad who has a totally screwed up moron as a father.

In this case, however, it wont happen. But what will happen is daddy and son will waste all the money so have to work again.

Elvis was not a messed up spoiled brat when he got drafted. He did his time quietly and without much fanfare. Bieber, on the other hand, would probably be washed out on the first day of basic training. Hope he's invested his earnings wisely 'cause he's doing his best to end his career with his antics and attitude.

Re: Can Justin Bieber use a tour in the Marines

The military has changed, it's the kinder, gentler, military now. They don't yell at them in boot camp any more, they give them hugs and tell them everything is going to be alright.

Speaking of Bieber, I just recently saw a video deposition of him being harassed for over 4 hrs by the attorneys of paparazzi. If there's one thing I hate worse than regular old attorneys or paparazzi, it attorneys for paparazzi, just a couple of rungs lower on the scum scale. The plaintiffs claim that Bieber told his bodyguards to rough up the pap smears. I say, "Why not? Everyone should!" The plaintiff's attorneys released the deposition tape to the media (that alone, I think warrants disbarment) in an effort to make him look like a self absorbed, petulant child. So they badgered him, including asking him personal questions about his girlfriend, completely unrelated to the charges, for over 4 hours in an effort to rile him up.

I gotta hand it to the kid, he was a smart ass, he was dismissive, he ignored them at times, he even got a little hot about the GF line of questioning, but considering the scumbags he was dealing with, he showed a lot less disdain, disgust, mockery, sarcasm and outright distaste than I would have in that situation. He lost control a little bit, but far less than anyone I know. I'm not saying he's a class act, but he has more class than the attorneys who were grilling him.

I would have fired my team of idiot attorneys immediately after that BS.

Yes, he's a punk kid with way too much money, access to way too much coochie, too many drugs, and too much free time and too many losers hanging all over him. The world is watching and analyzing his every move. I wish I was that age again with even half of that money. LOL

LOL
Just wondering if that comment is from experience or just what you've heard?

I didn't know any of the military takes drug abusers. They used to have zero tolerance. Has that changed too?

Can they sign up Miley Cyrus at the same time? Brittany Spears, Lindsay Lohan?

The days of actors and entertainers being military heroes is long gone. Guys like BGen Jimmy Stewart aren't found in the industry anymore.

Canadians can join the U. S. Military, can't they?

The Navy changed a lot in the 10 yrs I was in. From 1984 to 1994, a strong PC mentality was sweeping through the ranks, and it was fed by the zero tolerance policy and post TailHook repercussions. On the one hand, the military appeared to be cracking down on drug abuse, alcohol abuse and overweight members, at the same time, they cut 5 weeks off of boot camp, instituted "red cards" which a recruit could pull out of his pocket at any time if he felt scared of anything he was told to do nd it would stop all training in the vicinity.

We used to use pretty harsh (but effective) training methods, like blanket parties, night time PT, punishing the entire group for one guy's screwup, etc. Now they talk it out, counseling, etc. The "kinder, gentler Navy" was an actual saying that they used to get dinosaurs like me (at 30 yrs old!) to let up on the kids a little. I was a defense contractor for about 12 yrs after I got out, and I did grooms on the ESM suites onboard. Most of these guys couldn't operate the gear (including navigation), much less troubleshoot or repair it. Good job security for us!

Hell, the Army doesn't even have KP duty or cooks any more. They hire civilian cooks at $90K/yr to work in the chow halls! That's why war is so expensive now, the gov't outsourced most of it!

Yup, most anyone from a friendly country can enlist. Lots of folks from the PI in the Navy back in the day.
