I've had a few , mostly Harley's. Right now a 92 Harley sportster and an 03 fatboy.

Decades of riding for me. Wanted to ride all 50 states, but only made 36 so far.

Worked at a Harley shop when I owned HDs, and hung out and worked at a Triumph shop most recently.

It's all about the boat now, so by the end of the year the Suzuki will be my only bike.

Current everyday bike is sv650 Suzuki. And I have a couple of old Triumphs.

Started in 1972 with a Honda 70. Then;

Suzuki GS750

Kawasaki Concourse

Honda XL650

Then two sons and a PC.

About 250,000 miles total

Nice bikes! Many I've had in the past, riding over 45 years.

Now, with so many biker types here, why has there not been more understanding of me taking my 650 cc Honda Transalp on my boat? I could have pushed it as said I wanted to take my 1600 Vulcan Classic, but I didn't....

I think one of those gas powered foot scooters might go fast enough to do something really stupid, especially if one were to modify the engine a bit. Something along the lines of those competition chain saw motors.

Those are the ones I can remember, but at one point my wife and I sat down and made a list of over 60 bikes I have owned over the years.
3 of those bikes I have rolled over 100,000 miles.

I would have had that kind of list too but having spent over half of my working career at minimum wage jobs, well, you win.

Except for the Harleys. I happen to not like them much. For several reasons.

I spent more time pushing my Sporty than riding it. Some would argue that AMF era unit does not qualify as a real Harley and I am inclined to agree.

I have had good Harleys and bad Harleys over the years. As a few days have passed, a few more bikes came to mind such as the pre unit Triumph and the BMW K75. Funny thing, it doesn't really matter what brand, they all have duds. I rode a bunch of Beemers before I bought that K75. Really enjoyed the boxers, but all handled great. From the day I bought that K model I hated it.
My 72 FLH was a constant love hate relationship. Went through several engine rebuilds, and in 1990 I put an Evo motor in it. Then sold it to a motorcycle rental company in Hawaii. The 79 was a great bike from day 1 to day last. I traded it for a cruising boat. Still wishing I had not done that.
The last Sporty I had was a 70 or 71, don't recall for sure. I loved that bike. The only down side was it had a habit of losing it's lights at really inopportune times. Like on a windy mountain road at 2 in the morning and running 80 or 90mph.
I have always been broke as well, but I am a fairly good wheeler dealer. The most I ever paid for a bike was less than $10k and I had a hard time justifying that.
You can get a allot for a little if you don't mind getting dirty. Just like boats

I realy like motorcycles, I've had more than thirty so far. Got a big soft spot for english bikes, Triumph's from the sixties were my favorites and I toured them, raced them, and at that time they made exellent dirt bikes if you removed the shiny bits and put knobby tires and Ceriani forks on them. In particular the "TT Special" and the "Bonneville" looked, sounded and felt just right to me. Later there was a twelve year affair with a Sturgis model Harley.

Back in the 60's Triumph riders used to say " Triumph's don't leak, they mark
their territory ".
I never owned one but I had a 95 Triumph Tiger ( new Generation) that was a nice bike.

I've been riding for about 40 years and am kinda like Kia Nui in that I've had lotsa bikes through the years. I'm currently down to 16. Mostly dirt bikes, mostly Japanese MX from RM-80 up to CRF-450R. My oldest are a pair of 74 Husky 400s my newest being the Honda 450, my favorite being my '81 YZ-465. Current street bike is a '06 V-Strom 1000.

Harley has come a long long way and most of the newer generation bikes will easily go 100,000 miles or more before needing any repairs- this is my second Harley - I only have 6700 miles on it & its 5 years old- WEEEEE what a ride!!!ive been riding all my life
