What kind of lens do you have on it? I would suggest to put the affordable 40mm f/2.8 pancake lens on it and it becomes very compact while maintaining the ability to take great pictures! I use my iPhone
for the other shots which works fine.
Thanks for the suggestion.
I generally use the EF 24-105mm. I rarely do any wildlife stuff these days but have various lenses up the EF300 and 1.4x converter.
Even with the lens that you suggest it hardly makes a pocket-able camera
. Although it would be easier to carry somewhat unobtrusively in small backpack or cycle bag.
A negative for me too is that 40mm on the 7D is a little long for a "normal" or default lens.
It seems that I'll have difficulty selling my gear
where I am now, Valdivia, Chile
, so the subject is somewhat moot. Obtaining a relatively specialist lens will probably be difficult here too but I'll ask around.
I bought the gear
I have in relatively flush times when I was in full employment
and now that I am a boat bum I don't have so much spending stuff.
