Just find a nice photo editing program; there's even versions for your iPhone !!
Here is a Jesus Christ lizard: not only can he walk over water (look at those feet!) but this one can do it with a big grasshopper in his mouth

All these were captured around Diablo Beach where Josie and I did a nice walk around this morning.
cheers,
Nick.

It has been a long time since I did that... too far back in my archive to dig up. But I recently cheated with a picture for a contest:

which was really this picture with "some" post-processing

Come on forward if you share this hobby too! What kind of gear do you have, what works really well or not at all aboard, what kind of photography you like best, which subjects, techniques, which software you use etc. !
ciao!
Nick.

I still have 35mm Nikormat and a pile of Nikon lenses. I lost interest when film disappeared or became prohibitive.
Pictures now with whatever pocket digital I haven't wrecked by sitting on it. Probably will pick up an underwater sport camera in the next couple of years. Price keeps comming down.
sunsets and people. I like the tall ship with the antique Badger (coal burner) and the sport fisher all together. All four taken in Ludington Michigan on a night with the best sunsets ever. Culdn't have afforded the film Hundreds of people walked out the jetty to watch.

That's a shame, get yourself a D700 and put those lenses to work again! When your world used to be film camera's, the crop sensors will never have the right feel for you, but a full format 35mm sensor (FX) will give you not just the same feel but with your lenses also the same (or better) results!
In Canon land I have the same thing.. I like the 7D for it's extra reach but always come back to the comfort of a full size sensor of my 5D2
EDIT: that camera pic didn't count so here's one we captured today of one of the pilot boats of the Panama Canal Authority:
ciao!
Nick.

Thank you Bash! The robber fly was captured by my better half Josie, here you can see how she did that:

This is a Canon 5D full frame camera with the 100mm f/2.8L IS USM Macro lens and the MR-14 ring flash mounted on the end of the lens. The image stabilizer together with the ring flash is what makes hand-held macro possible.
Now, how can we get you to take up photography as hobby too?
ciao!
Nick.

I like my guys. The big one is a birder and used to climb trees to get them. Sorry for more boring pet photos.

I like that! I'll be looking into that for my Nikon. Right now I am between a nice macro lens and a nice wide angle for my next lens. Diana wants the macro, but I want the wide angle.

I love both; wide angle is lots of fun and so is macro. But macro with image stabilization and ring flash or even multi-light specialized macro flash units, become pricey very quickly compared to a wide zoom.
Here is an example of a new technique we are practicing, called focus stacking:

This photo is made up from many exposures that shift focus from snout to tail, with the computer finding the Depth Of View and picking the in-focus part from each capture and blending them all, resulting in everything being in focus. You can see here that a "slice" is missing between the back legs and the wing crossing the twig: an out of focus part. We are getting better at it though
ciao!
Nick.
