Hi all, Wedding photography pays my bills, but landscape panoramas & travel imagery are the passion, and of course sailing...
Shoot on Cannon gear 1dsm3 and 2x 5dm2 most L series lenses.

Hey Tobster, I can't see your picture... check your album settings if it is publicly accessible ...

Here is Titan, one of the worlds biggest lifts. I have been at this picture for years and this is the best I managed. The difficulty is the bright sun which either overexposes everything or makes the crane just a silhouette. I used exposure bracketing and PhotomatixPro software for this version, followed by regular processing in Lightroom:

Hey guys, was a photographer in the UK before I moved to Canada. Would do weddings, christenings and ran a studio from home. Passion was always landscapes, seascapes and wildlife!

Don't do much anymore but always in the back of my mind to start again, great pictures guys shall be keeping an eye on this thread.

Been having fun with my iPhone a lot lately, got a little blog of pictures I take day to day, quick touch up on the photoshop app before uploading. Lot of fun and so quick, easy and convenient will have to post some pics when I get on the laptop.

Hi Rachel, would be great to see some of your shots here in the thread

Here's a flower I got in front of my EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS USM on 7D body:

And Josie got this robber fly in front of the EF 100mm f/2.8 IS USM Macro (with ring-flash) on 5D2 body:

Sadly I do not have much in the way a " good" camera, I have a fuji S1800, that gets somewhat abused, plus an IPhone 4, hopefully attached is a picture of west coast Scotland last year.

Re: Any Photographers with DSLR's Around ?

Taken with a crappy 110 camera and film scanned twice and then uploaded digital for your pleasure. Only still shot I have that can detail wave size. Run a angle about 30 degrees off my elbow. That is the wave base. The boat is on the ridge of a crest. Between the elbow and chin are tumbling waves trying to set up higher in the back drop is the next crest. Unusual is that you can define looking closely the true sea condition.

Re: Any Photographers with DSLR's Around ?

Very nice pictures!!

Keep in mind that the horizon needs to be level for these kind of shots. You can only let that go when you shoot closeups of the crew. It is very easy to rotate these pictures a bit with programs like Lightroom or iPhoto etc.

Here's a new friend we met today:

It's a common black hawk or mangrove hawk. We think they are the same kind

ciao!

Welcome to the photog thread of the Cruisers Forum David I believe you can upload attachments when you go to the full editor (not quick reply) and look further down your screen.

I have my photo's on-line elsewhere and just post the link like you found.

Did you read my blog post about using fisheye lenses on & around a boat? It seems you are also a bit light on the wide end like me I'm saving for that Canon fisheye zoom L-lens now

EDIT: OOPS, forgot the picture again! Here it is, a nice land/sea scape that I saw and captured today:

ciao!
