Re: Any classic car enthusiasts on board ?
I will guess Heinkel, the front reminds me of one of their bubble cars of the 50/60's and may have been a convertible version. Of course i may just be proving what a complete ignoramus i am, as if i needed that.
Just gone the google,i was wrong, what a surprise. See link.

Re: Any classic car enthusiasts on board ?
Only a couple of these could be considered 'classic', but here are the 'fun' cars I owned in the past (fun except for maintaining the front king pins on the Fiat 850 and head gaskets on the X-19):
1961 Porsche 356B
1970 Fiat 850 Spider
1970 Datsun 240Z
1975 Fiat X-19
1976 Datsun 260Z (German Spec)
1987 Porsche 944S
After totalling the 87 Porsche I kicked the habit and pursued more pedestrian rides. In fact, apart from my one 'toy' (the 57 Ghia), I now prefer to drive my cars into the ground. The current victims of this abuse are a 2008 BMW X3, a 2002 VW Passat (340,00 km and counting!), the aforementioned 1957 Karmann Ghia lowlight, and on Isla Margarita, a 2002 Renault Kangoo ( I know, the power, the glory....). Sometimes, however, in spite of the IMS problems and the potential for low-mileage, catastrophic engine failure, I do get the urge to buy a used Boxster S ......

Re: Any classic car enthusiasts on board ?
Well, I've gone totally Soccer Mom with my '87 300TD Turbo wagon, but if you ask a Mercedes diesel geek, she's a hot babe
in the past, I was a total Mopar geek. My first love was a '70 Barracuda with a 383, then I let her go for a '68 Dart GTS also with 383. Ah, that Dart, geez it was such a badass...sold it for money to go to college. Not sure that was a good deal ;-)

Hey, Bob... looks like Emerald Bay on a sunny July day with the Safari Rose in the background. Yes, there is a lot of breeding goin' on around the lake in the summer... not so much in winter... cheers, Capt Phil

Your correct. My brother's boat is 'Miss Blue Eyes", a F-28.
This shot was 2 summers ago during the big fires. We play tennis at the state run estate just north of Sugar Pine State Park.

Ah, that's the Harmonic Convergence, isn't it? I see folks chatting about it at the Fboats list. Sadly and oddly there's few and far between here in the central Gulf. Nice 28CC, there was a girl down here with one but I think she's sold it. Hooked up with a guy on a leaner or something...
Here's us at the Nationals a few years back.

He sold it last year. His was still built here in California, and for some reason that carries a lot of weight on resale. He does of course still have his cabin at North Shore.

From cars to boats and back to cars again.
I am always enticed by girls around mid-twenties. Today I could not resist her when she was almost dropped in my lap.
119.000 km on the counter and as sound as a bell. I have had 4 Jags over the years when I was a wee bit younger but when this girl of 24 came along I had to have her. Bionic ear or not.

Re: Any classic car enthusiasts on board ?
sweet. I'm surprised that your front spindles can handle handle over 1g lateral acceleration.Impressive.
My ride is a 300+ rear wheel hp Miata. Full race suspension. BUT only a 12.2s 1/4 mile..

Spindles don't get the compound loading of moment-arm and shear, the engine and trans are so low in the frame rails, my CG is spindle height, so it has a Go-Kart attitude going for it.
I didn't do much homework on the tires, since my Track-T weighs about what a Lotus Super 7 weighs, I just use the same tires they run. That way I keep the "big & little" look going, but can still slice and dice.
