That truly sucks. The 100" that i posted about cost me four times more than it's worth and i can insure it for a third of that. So if anyone decides to damage it, i am stuffed. They will never steal it, it has a four switch(out of a choice of 11) sequential start with no key. They will die of boredom before they hit the right sequence.

I guess it was no longer under warranty...

Mr. Allen Swift ( Springfield , MA.) received this 1928 Rolls-Royce Picadilly P1 Roadster from his father, brand new - as a graduation gift in 1928.
He drove it up until his death last year.....at the age of 102 !!!
He was the oldest living owner of a car from new. Just thought you'd like to see it.

It was donated it to a Springfield museum after his death. It has 170,000 miles on it, still runs like a Swiss watch, dead silent at any speed and is in perfect cosmetic condition. (82 years)
That's approximately 2000 miles per year...

Brian,

You have managed to get a lot of different rides to hook and book. My best, in a 1790 lb Track-T was a 10.8 @ 132, you bettered this on a couple of rides, all of them heavier than mine. I'm trying to decide if it was skill as a builder or driver to have such good times???

Found this video of a 2 seat F1 ride. Maybe not a classic car, but sure looks like quite an experience.... you get the idea why F1 drivers have big neck muscles - those things have good brakes..

She was a trooper, but watching her made me think of a bag of potatoes strapped in. That engine was a high winding, temperamental little sucker. After light off, I don't think the driver ever let it drop below 3000 rpm.

Probably more than that. They're limited to 18,000 rpm, and it seemed to sit on the limiter for a fair while on the straights. But with infinitely variable valve timing (pneumatic valves) they're a lot less temperamental than they used to be.

In races they can generate 3.5 G lateral and up to 5 G under brakes, so no wonder she looked like a sack of spuds.
