Another Message in a Bottle, Found!
Well, my first recovery of my message in a bottle, tossed into the Atlantic during my 2013 crossing, brought out some opinions about whether or not it is cool to toss a message in a bottle.
So, no haters please.
This 3rd bottle was just found in Turks and Caicos after 3 years drifting in the current finding it's way from near Cape Verdes. The man who found it said it was wet inside and he only saw part of the email address and only part of the message.
I wrote a long handwritten message for each one. The 2nd one was about a year ago, but because of the backlash from the find of bottle number 1, I did not post about bottle number 2, found on a uninhabited island in the Bahamas.
I get oddly excited about each one that is found. I just wanted to share my happiness.
Is it wrong, or just fun? ( You don't really need to answer that)
If I was walking on a beach and found a bottle with a message I would be pretty excited. It gave someone a thrill and makes me smile.
If you don't like it, come over and see me about it. In Great Harbour, Tortola.

Re: Another Message in a Bottle, Found!
I found one once, in Australia. If had floated from Panama somewhere.
A ships officer had had an affair with a girl in some port. He wrote his love and threw it to the sea.
He never expected it to be found but had written it a bit of scrap paper with the ships name on the reverse letterhead.
Love is grand... losing it is painful.

I think the occasional message in a bottle is good fun, as long as you're not writing notes for every case of beer

Re: Another Message in a Bottle, Found!
Thanks for the childhood memories: this brought to mind a classic story that I think talks to our ongoing fascination for this exercise. I know it from a half-hour film version made by the Canadian National Film Board in the '60s: https://www.nfb.ca/film/paddle_to_the_sea
"Based on Holling C. Holling's book of the same name, Paddle to the Sea is Bill Mason's film adaptation of the classic tale of an Indian boy who sets out to carve a man and a canoe. Calling the man "Paddle to the Sea," he sets his carving down on a frozen stream to await spring’s arrival. The film follows the adventures that befall the canoe on its long odyssey from Lake Superior to the sea."

I think it rather grand that all three of your bottles were found. In this great big world, that is tops!

This should be encouraging for Gil. Hope it doesn't take as long.

Oh now that brings back memories! I had the book in second grade! It was a favorite. We even carved a canoe and let it loose in the Yellowstone river. But alas, it sank!

There were actually 9 bottles, so we have three found out of nine so far.

Ahh...33% is still awesome. On your average, 6 more years and they will all be found.

Re: Another Message in a Bottle, Found!
for those bottle note throwers, make sure your far enough off shore so it does'nt end up on the beach the same day! My wife and I found one in the Bahama's several years ago, only to find the guy that wrote it, threw it in that morning. It was already up in the weed line. It would be nice if you put enough dough in it so the finder could buy another bottle, (full).🎅🎅

With all of the useless trash out there have at it. It won't make a significant difference and will probably bring joy to you and the finder.
