US Congress recognises National Marina Day

The US House of Representatives passed a proclamation on Tuesday, recognising August 11, 2007 as National Marina Day across the US. The resolution, introduced by Representative Harold Rogers of Kentucky, urged US marinas to serve as "environmentally friendly gateways to boating." The day is produced by the Association of Marina Industries (AMI).

Great. I am so pleased to learn our Congress is working on the really important stuff.

Sorry for the sarcasm but I’m a little jaded.

Actually, so am I!
I really hate it when I pull into a harbor/marina that smells like a sewer!

You do have to wonder if Hallmark is going to bring out a line of greeting cards and try to convince us we have to by gifts as well.

Maybe it will become the new valentine's day.

Maybe we could take August 11 off our calendar here because we have no marina.

If you think YOU'RE happy, imagine how an AMI member must feel, saying "And I paid my dues so we could hire a lobbyist to do WHAT?"
