typhoon-free marina/boatyard in the Philippines

Anyone looking for a well run marina / boatyard in SE Asia should consider the Holiday Oceanview Marina on Samal Island, in the South of the Philippines.

Locals in the area cannot remember any typhoon ever passing this way! When the latest typhoon passed thru the Philippines a few weeks ago, well north of us here, it made big coverage in the medias all over the world ... and the damages were impressive, alas. Here, by luck, we are far enough south that it is not an issue ... in fact we are located just on the border of what insurance companies consider typhoon-risk zone!

We have been hauled-out here for almost a year now (we are doing extensive remodeling and boat projects on our 1980 trimaran) and we could not have found a better place to be! (I have no financial interest in this business in case you wonder about my enthusiasm ).

Some cruisers here are happy that we are still a small community I believe in sharing the good things in life
