Recommendation for Marinas in the Keys

I will need to leave my 40Ft Ketch in the keys for a month or two starting in January
. I draw 5'4". Looking for recommendations that will not break the bank.

Thanks,

Bill

Check out ActiveCaptain. You'll have to register (free) but you can find just about every marina available, together with infomation, contacts, and in most cases reviews.

FWIW...

Hi Bill:

If you don't need to be plugged in, your best bang for the buck will be moorings, which are available in several areas in the keys.

Waterwayguide.com has full listings of each of the facilities in the Keys in the Waterway Planner

Bill, Key West will be your most expensive, Marathon perhaps the least. The problem in January is that many of the marinas are full in Marathon with snow birds there for the season. You may find a mooring at Marathon City Marina. Dock space at Marathon Marina or Sombrero Resort might be available. Another possibility might be Bonefish Marina on Cocoa Plum. These are condos but the owners rent them out if they don't have boats there. Unfortunately there are no inexpensive slips in the Keys. Another consideration, not too far off, is Dinner Key or Crandon Marina in Key Biscayne. Good luck. Chuck

Thanks to all that have replied. Our plans have changed and we plan on leaving the boat in the Miami area. A somewhat reasonable option is to leave the boat on a mooring at Rickenbacker Marina. Does anyone have any good or bad experiences with Rickenbacker Marina? How safe will be boat be if I leave her on a mooring for a month or two?

Unattended, not safe at all. Safer in a slip at Crandon but that will be $800 a month.
