Permanent Moorage in Astoria, Oregon?

Contemplating relocating my 43' wood cutter to the Astoria area from upriver to both slowly gain my sea legs and access to a DIY boatyard and those more experienced with wooden boat hull maintenance as needed.

Pro's and cons on keeping a wooden boat (excellent condition, 20 yrs young) in Astoria year round?

Suggestions on which Marina to use? I am not found of tightly packed in marinas especially with a 6'6" deep keeled sailboat with the winds that can often present themselves in Astoria.
