New York/New Jersey Club Suggestions

I am a recent (4 years) transplant to New York from Down Under and have finally found a beautiful 30' steel cruising yacht. In Australia, the only usual way afford a yacht is to be a member of a "working club" where members build and maintain the facilities, work on their boats and enjoy club rates on moorings and at the bar!
If anyone can recommend a club within one or two hours of NYC that sounds even a little like this I would be forever grateful. Swimming pools and launch services definitely not required!
