Messed up, need slip info for Great Loopers/Rivers

Hi, sorry, I posted in the wrong section under seamanship, thinking how hard it would be to land a 35' with a 14.5' beam...what I really need to know is are there slips to accomodate that beam along the eastern ICW in marinas, I'm sure there are, but how plentyful are they....and most of all, what would a slip cost per day/per month, I can't lease on an annual basis as I'd be moving along...

Interested in the Tenn/Tom, Big Muddy, gulf area, LA, AL, MS, FA and the inside ICW. Kentucky, Arkansas, Missouri are some others to do as well.

Should I stay with a narrower beam say 9'...if there is a big cost difference?

Draft is only 2.5' and bridge clearance is 10', for those covered docks.

I have never been in a pleasure boat that wide, I can see people running off the docks as I approach!

Thanks...

Beam won't bother you down in LA. You have the most nessary item covered draft !! In fact you should find a place most anywhere along the gulf just have to look ! lots of private docks down here that are empty found 3 in New Orleans 50 ft covered for 400+electricity and theres 10 or 12 between me and Houma that will go for 150 to 300 with power and water just have to look and ask ! give me a shout if you need something in Louisiana Bob and Connie

Thanks much Bobconnie, and I will! Wondering too about what it costs per night, I don't plan on a month.....I don't think. I'll try gunkholing all I can too!

I'm not sure about the specific areas you are looking at, but here in the Chesapeake the marinas charge by length, not beam. We have a catamaran with a nearly 20' beam and still pay the same rate as monohulls, with a few rare exceptions. We see transient rates from $1/ft to $3/ft per night depending on the marina. That rate usually, but not always, covers electricity and water for a transient. Some places charge extra for wifi. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I had heard that cats were certainly more, so I guess you are in the right places! Slips around here will charge more if over a 10' beam...on the lakes. But no way to get over the dams from me to there. That's good news....
