Re: fort lauderdale: marina or mooring suggestion

Hi! Learn how to anchor off a mooring ball, tie up in a marina's dock, and how to set anchor(s) in the middle of nowhere (outside commercial shipping lanes). Get the feel of a dragging anchor. Learn how to set one, two and three anchors, if you have them on board. There will be plenty of times when you'll need to use two or more anchors. Practice, practice, practice! Let's know how you're doing! Good luck!

Re: fort lauderdale: marina or mooring suggestion

Las Olas City Marina has some mooring balls and lots of transient slips.

No alternative but the Las Olas mooring field or a transient slip in you're set on Ft. Lauderdale. There are private slips available but not usually for two weeks. You might check here Waterfront Times Front Page and you might get lucky. The only place to anchor is Lake Sylvia but I wouldn't leave a boat there unattended.
