Chesapeake Sailors - Marina Question

Is anyone familiar with White Rocks marina in Rock Creek MD? We looking at putting our boat there and wondered if anyone had some first hand knowledge of the facility.

Try Old Bay Marina across the Patapsco river - only $1,775.00 for an end of pier lay-too. And only 5 minutes to the open Chesapeake Bay. Nice folks and easy to get to by land - just off of 695

Brian at Old Bay is an OK Guy, Ken over at Oak Harbor is pretty decent also.

We have had a boat at White Rocks for several years. It is a good value, under $3000 for a 34' sailboat. The shower house burned down last year but is now reopened and better than ever. It is nice and quiet in the evening. There was a restaurant on site but it has closed and a Crab House will be opening in the future. There is pump out and a fuel dock nearby.

They have nice facilities and piers, good location on the bay...but I would caution you about its lack of protection during a storm, the last time we had a Tropical Storm (2007 I think) come through this area WRM was fairly exposed and I didn't like what I saw. I suppose if you could get hauled in time its a pretty non issue considering how often it happens.

Maryland Yacht Club is very close and offers quality fuel, pump-out, ice, etc. Also, within a few minutes you have a West Marine, Cobe Marine (good for engine parts & fishing needs), an ACE Hardware, Shoreline Canvas, and many more boat related stores.
