Recent downtime

Dear cruising sailors and wannabes

I'm sorry for the recent downtime on the server.

The site is hosted by Infinology and they must have had some technical problems. They have a 99.9% uptime guarantee and have proved to be quite reliable.

You don't see my name among the Currently Active Users much these days. I'm very busy, but I will make sure the site stay up and running for many more years.

Here you can see my twins that will be 2 years old in November:

I play with them as much as I can - when I'm not working as plant manager at a containerboard factory.

Ooops! Daddy is not too good with pigtails ... and the twins' mother (my wife) was away for the weekend this photo was taken ...

pig tails are fine - what about minor damage at lip / chin area on son - that could be a problem for you.

Heyyyyyy!!

Dear Gisle,

Beautiful twins you have there. Wow. It reminds me of my neice & my little nephew. Both twins. Born the same day. Brother & sister.

They're all grown up. They are both in their late 20's now. Man, Gisle. You better try spend as much time as you can. You'll be like me, beating yourself up wishing you had.

But, at least I had more of a excuse not being able to spen more time with them. Long distance traveling. Like I said on other posts. I was in the US Navy. And on top of that. I lived in another state. And my brother. Who was in the US Air Force, was moving around alot.

But, try to spend as much time as you can. Time does fly by. And before you know it. They'll be leaving out the door to be off on their own.

Regards,

Kevin

Kevin:
Imagine that: “born on the same day - AND both twins.
I've only got one “twin”.

Post Boy! How time flies....

Gisle,

It seems like a few months ago you were just getting married.

Good looking kids you got. You must be proud!

It seems the forum had grown as well.

The best to you Gisle, and stop in once in a while.

IMHO Your site has become the best out there!!!!!!!

Worked out well for me, I 'found' this site through a discussion of it's being down on another site.

the site is crawling again, and hard to sign on. i contacted the tech folks at infinology and he said the database had a lot of files and had to load them all each time. since the problem comes and goes, i am dubious, but if it isn't made of wood, it's not my field. they were nice enough to offer to upgrade ($) capabilities. i will leave it to the tech savy to sort things out.

The time is 16:21 for me here right n ow as I post. I get home from work about now and go straight to the BB. IT seems to work fine att his time of day. When I get onto the BB in the morning, any time from about 7:00 onwards, it is impossibley slow. Infact, I hit on a post and go away and do something and come back to see if it has gone to the page. By usually 7.45, it is close to useless and I give up.

I survived my wife's reaction on that chin. So did my son - and it was healed after a few days ...

Now I've been in France on business for 3 days and I miss my twins a lot - so I'm going home tomorrow on an earlier plane than planned ...

You're right Delmarrey. Time flies. I've been married for 2.5 years already - and during those years I haven't had time to spend much time on this forum. But I'm very happy to see it working and blooming without my precence ...

Thanks a lot for the great feedback ...

Question One thing I've noticed in the last few days

Has there been a change in the format recently?

I seem to be getting hit with a lot of cookies now. And the Discussion Board doesn't want to load up properly. I have to hi-lite and release to get it to show, especially after a post reply.

Whatcha think?
