Now I have my interweb going again (note - Modems/routers don't drink coffee everyone)

You could have called me a Turtle as well (that is brilliant by the way) but I was working on the theories as follows;

1- Shakespeare is a tricky read at best so it could have gone either way but more importantly,
2- I didn't think Toajones, based on previous posts I read, is silly enough to have a crack at the holders of the BRB in a thread with the title this one has and
3- I am of the thought, again on history, Toajones would not be one to speak in forked tongue more 'straight out at ya' and there would be no doubt you knew what he meant if he was, shall we say, not having a good day.

If he was going by the name Kamikaze it could have worked out quite different though

Hence I was thinking something didn't come across quite right but it wasn't a naughty post (and I'm looking for one ), Shakespeare is still a bit over my head and I'm sure we newbies appreciated his welcome.

What do you all reckon. Am I coming along nicely or do I need more educating?
Here's your chance to 'tune' a newbie, grab it while you can

PS. That 'GOrD' bit I do like, very good indeed. I am indeed in the presence of many very smart heads.

New Flash - Palagic and GMac nail a spammer.

GMac wishes to announce with the very able assitance of Palagic his first kill. 5 spams though out the board are gonebuger and another spammer wasted his time. Due to the great vigilance of Palagic and a somewhat coiled spring of a GMac the spammer and it's evil work lasted less than 45 minutes.

GMac is so happy after so many years of getting spammed he got some, if not large, revenge. He is also very happy the internet is still working

CSY Man,

That is the difference. Things don't happen on web sites when the owner walks away. Andy did one thing we can all thank him for. He set up folks to take care of things and for the membership benefits. We do what we do everyday and it's the day to day stuff that counts. When there isn't anything good happening every day on line then the whole point of being on line goes to trash.

Things happen everyday here because the place runs well. We as Mods don't make it happen, but we allow it to happen without all the crap you get in other public spaces. So long as members don't want that kind of trash then we will work to keep it out of the way of what we really do want. More Cruising for more folks most of the time.

Excuse me, my friends, but despite the “hi-jacking”, could you, perhaps, tell me what might not be quite appropriate concerning the above statement?

I’m sure the international community of sailors would be very interested.

Is this the level to which the discourse here has been reduced?

Uh, what happened to my posting and the question to the mods if they know how to clean garbage from a bulletin board....?

Not an attempt to hijack the thread, just a follow up to this statement:

Sorry CSY. I guess this is all just getting too far off topic and the tape had to be cut somewhere. I guess you placed the mark to cut at. Nothing personal.
So could we all get back to Boats and related stuff?

G'day all. One (another) small computer issue and I missed you all.....Ohhhh.

I must say this site helper tag is handy, you get to see what was 'edited'. CSY as much as I'd love to help I'm still very much on a learners license due to that still highly likely to push the wrong thing and shut the entire interweb down. I could be considered one of the most dangerous things known to man 'an enthusiastic amateur', they come second to an upset wife obviously. Some one must be running the board somewhere CSY, so should be able to find the BRB and push it hard.

From what I can see here spam is a nasty and large issue for most boards but it appears the CF Masters have been diligently nailing each one ASAP so maybe the spammers are learning 'why bother, those guys on the CF are watching too hard'. The list of banned spammers is long.

Chief Scout Palagic, Good to see you and thanks for the lovely PM reply. So simple but said so much. As to how selective, we'll see I suppose, me included

That is the problem, nobody is running the board. I was mod on the board for a while, but have no idea how to clean filth and scum-bags. What is the BRB and how do ya push it...?

This thread was about new mods, not boats and related stuff....
