New forum for vendors

Our community has been growing and we are delighted that Cruisers has attracted so many new members. Many of our members (both old and new) have businesses that are of interest to the entire cruising community. To accommodate their needs and encourage participation by all members we have recently added a vendors forum and a new user ID specifically designed to meet the needs of our "commercial" experts.

The vendors forum is set up so that those in the biz can more freely discuss their products and services. We have a community policy that prohibits vendors from quoting prices and soliciting business, but sometimes, there is a good reason to discuss new products or issues. The new vendor forum is NOT intended to be a sales section, but rather a place for our commercial participants to more freely communicate and so our "no commercial content" rules will be somewhat more relaxed in this section of the forum.

Members who have cruising related businesses are not required to register as vendors, but for those that do, we will now allow one link to their business website to be placed in their signature line. Regular members are still not allowed to post commercial links.

I hope that this new arrangement will be beneficial for all our members. Our cruising pros have a lot to offer and great wealth of experience that all our members can benefit from.

If you would like to have your account changed, please let one of the moderators know about it. There is no fee or charge for this, we just want to help you connect and help our membership by making it clear that you do this for a living and may have a unique perspective on the topic of our forum. For more detail about our forum rules, please read here. Thanks for helping our community expand; we hope that this change will benefit all our members.

Thanks Andy

I think this is a great addition to the site.
