New features at Cruisers!

Early this week, we upgraded our software and you may have noticed a few changes.

This latest version of our software has several interesting new features to improve communication. Over the next few days, we'll tweak things a bit - if you have questions, post 'em here.

New networking features

Check out the new options in your profile for personal albums, friends features (like the old buddy lists) social groups and visitor messages.

Albums

You can set up your own albums in your profile and manage the images in those albums. Consider adding pictures here that might not fit into the main photo gallery or setting up an album to detail a trip.
Find the link to set up an album on the left menu of your user cp or on the right column of your profile.

Social groups

Social groups are a new way to discuss a topic. You can set up a social group via your user CP and function as the group leader. As an example you may want to set up a group to discuss a specific multi-hull brand. Social groups have to be joined before being able to post to the topic, but all forum members can read those posts and of course...all forum posting rules apply.

You can find a list of social groups that are currently set up by clicking on the social group link in your user cp. I set up a test group that has to do with beer.....

You don't ask you don't get. You may have friends you don't know about. Things can happen from the most remarkable locations in the world.

The new features bring a lot for members to have control over your own view and the ability to do more things with the rest of the group one on one and to form smaller groups beyond just the regular forums.

Hopefully we can add more help on using them and as you see them in use so you can add more ways of making them do things you really want. We have some new mod tools (serious spam fighting stuff) and the whole CF experience is getting better for all of us.

Ask questions and try the new features!

So I check my control panel for new fun things, perhaps friends who left a message, or women wanting to date me, instead I find this:

Oh-oh, official warning..

Thread carefully out there, somebody is watching you.

Seriously guys, have we joined the military or some other official place where there is a file on you?

Perhaps time to jump ship and swim for friendlier shores?

Hows that work? Do I have to buy them beer?

No you just pour one and if they don't show up you drink it.

Hmm, good idea, but I have already tried it for couple of hours and nobody showed up so the beer is tasting better and better.

(I got on David Old Jerseys friend list, but I would rather hang out with the bikini girl on his profile page. He refuses to give me her phone number however. How do we get around that? Can the Moderators help..? Beer is on me Paul and mum is the word..)

New features are great - especially the one with the beer, but there seems to be another new "feature" - whenever you go to a new forum page or thread the content bounces right and left a few times if the browser window is less than a certain width. Makes me seasick a I lose that beer

IE6, seems to be OK in firefox
