Kudos to Our New CF Moderators

Congratulations (or condolences) are in order for our newest (2011) class of moderators. hummingway, Pete7, Saucy Sailoress, SvenG, Dockhead, capngeo are our latest conscripts volunteers

Please offer them a hearty thanks and buy them an extra round at the next opportunity as they have generously offered their time and knowledge to help out the community.

Being a forum moderator is a lot like being a new parent. There's lots to learn, some serious questioning of ones sanity and in the end you just hang on for the ride and hope to not mess anything up too much.

Thanks for helping out and don't let the spammers get the upper hand

Sanity? Haven't seen much of that around - it's been quite reassuring, really!!!

In all honestly, I love it here! I enjoy learning cool new stuff (and I can't wait to learn how to power a boat by hanging a sail from a lamppost); and most importantly you keep my spirits up in this wearisome wait until cast off... 15 and a half months to go... So it is an honour to be able to help out where I can.

Thanks to a great team of mods who have been ever so gentle and helpful so far... and I thank you in advance for your endless patience.... THANK YOU!!!

I feel it is quite an honor to be asked to be on staff here. I've moderated on other forums, and can say that without a doubt, CF has the best moderation team ever assembled. I hope that I can measure up to their standards.

Hm... Phil. I've been been to figure it out. Are you saying that we may as well all just shoot ourselves? Or that you're carving our names onto bullets? Thanks, either way that's reassuring. (Note for Americans: Not really, that was my English sarcasm breaking out)

I'm not sure but I think you just said American's like me that don't own a gun are outcasts!

Only on CF could one start with a kudos thread and change it to a gun thread (now I'm going to be "spoken" to).

In addition to the many American moderators, Phil, we have mods in Australia, Canada, Singapore, Kuwait and the UK, currently. Previously, there have been mods in New Zealand and other English-speaking countries.

Believe it or not, it isn't just a matter of tapping a member on the shoulder and telling him / her "You're now a moderator." Members are asked to help out in the back room, but are free to decline - and often do.

No, I think he's saying it's wise to possess the bullet with your name on it for safekeeping. Gun not required.
