Janet - what I am to say now is not me speaking, but the tutors from Open University's " Accessibility in online education for disabled users" tutors using me as a medium!
We noticed that in post 1 on this thread, you used a link labelled " link". Hmm. This is not very useful. It would be better if you labelled your link "" software applications for users of IPADs, smartphones, android and other mobile applications".
This way, you allow a larger hit space for users with limited mobility and vision, and make it easier to comprehend for the rest of us with various disadvantages such as limited understanding... plus the location of the link is clearer!

The App introduced me to Cruisers Forum, having found it by searching the App Store for "boating...". I'm glad I did.

Active Captain, what is the iphone app for active captain. I use the NutiCharts for my Droid but can't find it on itunes my new iphone 4.

There are two for the iPhone and iPad: Navimatics Charts & Tides, and eSeaCharts. Navimatics uses vector charts; eSeaCharts uses raster charts. There are some other developers working on support for their iOS products currently too.

I have to say, I just got a Xoom tablet running Honeycomb. NutiCharts is quite responsive. I expected it to be a little slower with the significantly larger area. It isn't - it's quite nice.
It's hard to beat free software for the lite version too.
