No words can express....

It is with deepest sympathy I send this condolence to you both. No words can express how much your heart must be aching at this time. I have an only daughter (Amanda) and I can't imagine suffering that shock.

Blessings and be of good cheer even in the face of your loss.

The Life of a Sailor's Daughter

I WAS BORN A SAILOR'S DAUGHTER
MY LIFE SPENT AT WATERS EDGE
THE DAYS THE SHIPS WOULD TAKE HIM
WERE THE DAYS THAT I WOULD DREAD

IN THE EVENINGS I'D SIT ON THE BEACH
MY MOTHER NEXT TO ME
TO SEND OUR LOVE OUT TO HIM
WE'D BLOW KISSES OUT TO SEA

FROM FAR OFF LANDS HE SENT HIS LOVE
IN GIFTS OF SILK AND GOLD
BUT I LONGED TO CURL UP IN HIS LAP
AND NESSLE IN HIS HOLD

AND ON THE DAYS HIS SHIPS RETURNED
MY MOTHER AND I WERE THERE
IN EVERY SAILOR ON THE RAIL
I SAW MY DADDY THERE

HE'D HOLD MY MOTHER CLOSELY
PULL HER TIGHTLY TO HIS CHEST
WITH A WINK OUT OF HIS TEARFUL EYE
HE'D LET ME KNOW THAT I WAS NEXT

THE FIRST EMBRACE MY FAVORITE
AS HE'D LIFT ME IN THE AIR
"DADDY, PLEASE DON'T LEAVE AGAIN"
YET HE'D JUST SMILE AND STARE

BUT THIS NIGHT AS WE SIT IN THE SAND
MY FATHER SAYS TO ME
"FOR YOUR SAILOR WHO IS UNDERWAY,
JUST BLOW KISSES OUT TO SEA"

With deepest sympathies from Singapore...

Thank you all. It has been a blessing to me to find so many friends that have come to our home and the messages that I have received here from Gord's kind post. The support that we have received has helped. Thank you again.

The joy in or life is gone, and we just can not see how it can return. Life seemed so short before but now much longer than we would like it to be. The Lord is our only hope.

Gunner:

I wish I could find words that would relieve your pain, but I cannot imagine what they are. The loss of a child is an unfathomable tragedy and mystery, to which there are no easy answers; and we can understand how you are overwhelmed with feelings of hopelessness, and of despair, confusion and sorrow.

And though it may feel that no one will ever understand your pain, I’m sure you also know that your God understands. He had a son who died also, who said, “Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” God weeps with you; and remember too, that you have many friends who care, and are here for you.
