I joined the other day and made a couple of posts.

One seems to have been up and then not there but the others seem to have "stuck."

Good idea, but it still needs a lot of content.

I could not readily see how to make a suggestion to change the outline. For example, for Canada you go from the country to ports, there is no way to go to a Providence and talk about it. Or perhaps a region such as the Marinetimes vs the PNW.

That would mean that you have not received the confirmation email for the registration. Perhaps there was a mistake in the email address you submitted.

I have removed the "pending" registration of your username so please register again. It is important the the email address you use is spelt correctly otherwise you will not receive your login details.

Thanks.

Your suggested changes were done some days ago - please check.

Suggestions and questions are posted on each page's "Discussion" - tab at the top left of each page.

These sort of emails from a previously unknown sender often land in the junk mail - check there first

Re: Cruisers Wiki Partnership

I have added some of the useful information to Kuwait's page - although in the fifteen years I have been here, I've only known of ONE boat sail up here - a big racing trimaran from Oman....! If you ever visit, let me know, of course!

Update:

Some good contributions and edits have recently been done - the Wiki is growing nicely.

Remember, just correcting speelling and mistakes grammar is also a great help.

Some sections of the Wiki are very well developed but sadly, some have little information. Please add what you can and/or update any outdated information you may come across. This Wiki is for the benefit of all cruisers around the world - it is OUR free source of worldwide cruising information.

* Register on the Cruiser's Wiki (necessary to limit spam and vandalism)
* Read the Wiki's "Help" section (L/H menu)
* Add/Edit information (bring out that hidden cruising guide writer in you)

Grab a page and build it!

Send a message via Skype™ to Trenelly
Re: Cruisers Wiki Partnership

Hi Andy,

This is slightly miss posted but I couldn't find the right place anywhere.

I'm trying to create an account on the wiki site but have not had a confirmation message yet. I tried to create a new account but got a message saying that my user name was in a pending account request.

Is there anything I'm doing wrong, or do I just need to wait a bit longer?

Many thanks,
Jason

Re: Cruisers Wiki Partnership

What a great idea! I've done a bit to be going on with - on the UK, England and Portsmouth. Very easy to build up a page with the default template. Would advise anyone to have a go, this idea could get very useful very quickly.

Bob: My only suggestion is a really petty one. Branding is important, even for a project like this. On the homepage, there are 8 different logos. Maybe better to cut down to just these two?

Just a thought.

As you can see from the signature/avatar, I've thrown myself in to this! As much as I hate any electronics on board, collaborative projects like this could be one of their most useful applications on shore for sailors. I urge everyone to get editing!
