That's not what HWMO says.

Off topic - but I'll allow it just this once.

So the next category of discussion to be banned surely must be any threads that mention the number of hulls in any way shape or form? --- the words mono, multi, cat and tri will be banned, and by definition the word yacht will be banned as well cause it can, according to Kate, only be construed as a mono, indeed any words that imply any numerical value are also ripe to be banned, whenever they are connected in any way to the amount of hulls surfaces a yacht, sorry a sailing boat, sorry can't discriminate against the power folk, so it no numbers connected in any way to anything that floats.

i suspect that this is a stitch up Folks - designed to make us read the rules.
Whoever said that the multihullers lacked a sense of humour

Re: CF to Ban Anchor Threads

Back in the old days (about a month ago) I was fetched up short by the mods for making "gratuitous" comments, which I admit were designed to stir the silt .
As my comments were deemed negative, and the responce to this OP appear to be negative, I now feel vindicated, as two negatives make a positive--oh poop!!-now I have upset the battery boys-- damn I just can't win.
What the heck!! -- I'm goin sailin.

Hmm. It depends how nicely you can make it up to the moderators involved. We love chocolate...

Primary school teacher has major league hooters!

I think the question then becomes does Kate have enough to share with the rest of the class?

Re: CF to Ban Anchor Threads

Well, it is about time. We all know that anchors are heavy, and putting that weight up on the bow of a boat increases pitching, and impacts the boat's performance. I for one am all for any change that results in better boat performance, especially when it also makes for a safer, quieter boat. Without those pesky anchors making the boat swing around at anchor at night, I can finally get a good night's rest.

Please also consider banning threads on EPRIRBS and life rafts, and all of those useless safety devices that we buy solely because of the marketing efforts of big corporations. We all know they own the USCG, and make them enforce stupid rules, and publish false reports of rescues to further their deceitful agenda!!!

That's because you're using the wrong anchor! My new NoStir #45 will NOT stir up any silt. The company has tested these anchors in mud, silt, stone, concrete and fish tanks, and they proved that they don't stir, assuming the user employs the floating chain sold with the anchor.

It amazes me that anyone is still using and old stir up anchor these days. And NO, the NoStir is NOT made in China, contrary to rumors spread here and other boating forums. The NoStir anchors are manufactured, one by one, by retired preachers in Northern Scotland, where the silt is known to be some of the worst in the world. Who better to build a no silt anchor than them?

It makes me crazy when I see a cloud of silt around a boat swinging on anchor because the guy is either ignorant of selfish; either way, the silt is proof that his anchor is stirring up the bottom.

Finally, I'm somewhat dismayed that a CF Moderator would suggest that anchors are unnecessary on sailboats. Without them, what the hell are we going to argue about? Ketch vs Sloop? Mono vs Multi? Pulleze!
