“... And where have all the graveyards gone, long time passing?
Where have all the graveyards gone, long time ago?
Where have all the graveyards gone?
Gone to flowers, every one!
When will they ever learn, oh when will they ever learn?”

This forum has become very important to me over the years. This is where the grown ups are. We get honest answers to honest questions here. We have some of finest members that can be found anywhere here.

Yeah, I thought that was a bit unneccessary.......especially on Chuck - who could not resist reading their own "Obituary"?

big spoon

He listed the return visits just to stir the pot.

Maybe this is why some of these folks decided to quit posting because they did not like to be on the wrong end of the spoon so much.

Thanks Gunner for introducing me to this forum.

I didn't realize I predated Andy.
(why do I have the suspicion I was the first vendor?)

What is the difference between quite and retire? I ask because in the other ongoing thread it sounded like Sully and Wheels "quit" too.

A brief cruising history on some of these mods might be helpful to some of us.

Sometimes I get the impression that some of the mods may be getting politics confused with information about challenging cruising areas in this world that might be helpful to cruisers entering unfamiliar waters. That may tend to show a lack of experience in world wide cruising and could explain a lot to some (myself included).

I'm not saying that a mod needs be a world wide cruiser to be a mod, I'm just saying that it may help some of us understand some of the positions taken by some of the mods. It doesn't make them right or wrong, it just helps us understand where they are coming from.

BTW....I too appreciate the work that these guys do for free....

It's still a pity you cannot express your opinions and have freedom of speech and question peoples integrity when there are blatant lies.
The mods are over sensitive and censorship in a lot of cases is not good as it's members who are being mislead by a few unscrupulous members.

I think the dates with Sully, Chuck, and Wheels are truly uncalled for. I keep reading we have to play nice. Who is we? The members only, or does that go for the mods too? There is a tendency for the last word to be typed by the mods. Sometimes an off the cuff remark. I think posting these dates is a small insult. The dates had nothing to do with this thread. Why not post every member who has left, or been banned?

I don't know the details of Chuck, and Wheels leaving us. I did read the remark that caused Sully to leave. In so many eloquent words he was called lazy by Gord. Sully has his own style to get through life just as we all do. The remark to him was uncalled for. Then it escalated into stupidity.

If I was walking down the street, and ran into a long lost friend pushing a baby carriage. In the carriage was a child with a cleft lip. I would never mention the scar, but would compliment the grip of the child's hand, or it's beautiful eyes, and lovely smile. Sometimes nothing at all needs to be said

Yes, on the whole the mods do great work, but play by the same rules. Then no one will feel as if they were insulted with a last word before closing a thread. It's your ballpark, equipment, and you make the rules, but at least make the rules fair for both teams......i2f
