Never knew Gisle.
I heard of this site the day after it came alive while slogging through the muck on the lats & atts BB one fine day.

What fascinates me about this site is that Gordon May is an Administrator here.
I knew Gordo when our boats were tied to docks 2 slips away behind an apartment complex on the Isle of Venice in Ft. Lauderdale a bunch of years ago.
Aside from the fact that he accidentally deep-sixed the grinding disk nut from my Makita grinder when I lent it to him, I can't think of a better choice as moderator here...

Gisle chose wisely...

Yeah the site works well and the best way to realise that is to take a tour else where. In spite of...or perhaps because of a rather loose supervision of content it seems to work and has a pretty adult atmosphere. High on information and low on recrimination... I took a look recently on a multihull.com thing... many restrictions and had to have cookies enabled even to look... and (some of) the crowd was nasty!

I have a link on my home page to this site.. (not on my links page) that goes first to a page explaining what it is and that I don't have control but that I enjoy it and recomend it. Thats sticking my neck out a bit. BTW, according to my stats program we are currenetly getting about 2400 visits a week to our site and about 4000 downloads of the paper per two month cycle. No doubt some from here and I hope it is in turn that some here are from TCP. Does seem to be a few more Aussies.

Everyone involved deserves a slap on the back and particular congrats to Andy and Gord, Scott and all the rest that help along.

Just proving that something like this can work and be human is worth noting.

Cheers

Gord: Gisle (founder of the original site) lives in NORWAY, not Denmark.

I have no business here, as a mere wannabee. Nevertheless enjoy your wise inputs. Quite different from aviation forums.

Regards from aviator who accidentally stumbled upon a sailing forum.

Thanks for the correction, Amphibian.
Contrary to her disclaimer ("...I have no business here..."), I'm reminded that Amphibian was the Forum's first administrator.
Glad to learn that you still check in now & then.

Hi guys

I was just curious about how the site was running. I'm happy to see that Andy R is doing a good job here. It's also nice to see that you're still onboard GordMay, Amphibian, Bobola etc

Amphibian, was it you flying a seaplane above Drammen today?

Last time I was sailing was in March (too long ago). Then I brought some friends to the Seychelles for some cruising on the cat you see on the top of the page

The yacht is out of the contract with Sunsail now, but we're keeping it in Paradise (the Seychelles) even though it's quite a long way from Norway.

Keep up the good work Andy

Gord - thanks for noticing... Love ya guys, and visit whenever.

Gisle - no, that wasn't me. Prefer to do "splash-and-goes" in Bunnefjorden at daytime weekdays to avoid heavy boat traffic at weekends.

Offer is still on - I know where to find you. Reverting...
