It's legal to bring back less than a box of Cuban cigars into the U.S. I think the limit is $100.

Sailing the northern shore is too windy and not nice water in my opinion. The southern part is real nice. If you anchor outside a town you will be hailed by guarda frontera and asked how long you will be there. Anchor in remote locals and you can stay a while. I speak Spanish so it was imperative. No one barely speaks english. Food is so so so cheap exempt in the marinas where it is still cheap.

Thanks for posting, great info. This is a frontier of sorts. Easy sail much like the Bahamas. I am looking forward to visiting.

I traveled cuba extensively aobut 15 years ago - most everyone spoke english (they pick up US TV signals quite readily there) and they spoke it well.

I'll be back and visiting by boat in 2017 and looking forward to it. I was disappointed in the diving - the cubans have justed about fished the waters around cuba empty.

Someone did say that the Jardim do Rex national park on the north is the best diving on the island - but unfortunately I didn't get there

Our books have gotten 5 star reviews on Amazon. Several readers have written "I never thought I would go on a circumnavigation, but when I read these books, I was right there in the cockpit with Vinni and Carsten"

You may have already stated it, and apologies if I missed it, but how long was your stay in Cuba? Was it all at the Hemmingway Marina? Thanks

Could you expand on the agriculture inspection. Did you give up some provisioning?

What? That would be pretty nervy. Who put you in charge of what I'm allowed to read?
