thanks for the thanks pm,just another point,when you go to customs
take any documents proving your non res status in the eu ie; bank a/c in non eu country,residence certificate in non eu country,proof of address in non eu country gas/electricity bill etc also letter from employer if working.
worked for me,a uk passport holder with sa residence, in cyprus
when they joined the eu,customs didn't like it,but there was sweet fa they could do about it........
normally will give you a 6month exemption straight off,up to a total of 18 months.
also when you want to come back to the eu to live you can get a s.a.d and as long as you dont sell the vessel for 1 year you can import
it vat free as a personal possesion.
