VAT Paid status loss ?

Hello All,

I am about to purchase a boat in the EU which has VAT paid. I am planning to register her outside the EU and use her in the Med for the permitted 18 months. After the Med I plan to sell her again. Does anyone know if she will loose her VAT paid status as its likely that she will be bought in EU again ? My fear is that I will then loose that value instantly.

the boat should not lose its vat paid status as long as it remains in the eu,regardless of the flag and will not be effected by the 18 month temporary import,as it is effectivly already imported into the eu so no need to apply for TI.

If you take delivery of the boat in the EU it will not loose tax status. You can register the boat outside EU.

A boat always looses VAT tax status if sold and delivered outside EU. Does not really matter if the new owner is EU resident or not as it is a new owner that imports the boat to EU.
