THAILAND OVERSTAY FINE?

Can anyone inform me the fine for overstaying past the 6 months allowed?

I was told a maximum of 10,000 Baht.

Can anyone confirm, a reference perhaps?

Thank you

I believe the maximum fine is the value of the boat. The Thai customs documents require you to list the value of the boat on the temporary import. In the verbage it states that for overstaying your import period then they can fine you the entire value of the boat. This is from memory but I am looking for old docs from our previous trips to Thailand to confirm. Never heard of anyone being fined before or having the boat confiscated so not 100% but this strikes me as correct.

Yes the form says something to that effect, But I also found this on the internet. A Phuket Gazzete article saying the overstay is $1000 Baht a day up to a maximum of 10,000 Baht. This fugure doubled from 500 a day and Max 5000.

But an official reference would be better than a Phuket Gazzete article.
