Spain - Gibraltar - Spain

Has anyone stopped in Gibraltar lately going in to the med? we would like to stop there in a few weeks but i'm a bit unsure about the process. I understand in Gibraltar i can clear in at any marina. What is the procedure for Spain? leaving and coming back?

Any experience would be great

Re: Spain - Gibraltar - Spain

I've only cleared into and out of Queensquay marina, coming from and departing to Spain. I don't really understand your questio(s).

Buy the cruising guide.
Contact Gib port control and ask permission to enter the harbor. Then contact your marina for further instructions. If you are concerned about your Schengen stamps, be sure to get your passports stamped, they normally aren't stamped. If too difficult make a day trip to Spain and cross the border by foot and get your stamps.

For Spain, you can anchor off La Linea, dinghy ashore to the marina, and check in (if you need too) at the airport.

Re: Spain - Gibraltar - Spain

Thanks for the response.

My question is more...

1. Do i need to check out of Spain? (e.g. do something at my last spanish port)

2. Check in to Gibraltar (i believe i have this under control)

3. Check back in to spain (where can i do this?).

Myself, my crew and the boat are all EU Citizens/flagged

Legally, if you are coming from Spain and want to stop in Gib, you need to check out of Spain at a Port of Entry, however, most marinas will handle the formalities. The same goes when going from Gib to Spain. However, unless you purposely get your passport stamped in Gib, Spanish authorities are none the wiser about where you went, and where you have been.
