Ships Stamp

Does anyone have any specific information or recommendations regarding a "ship's stamp". Much has been written about having an official looking stamp with which to endorse documents to impress foreign officials. However, the information on this stamp seems to vary. Some recommend vessel name, home port and Master's name only, while others think the more info the better, including Ham radio license #, FCC License number, Documented Vessel, etc.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this.

Ship's Stamp

A “Ship’s Stamp” could be modeled after an Architect/Engineer’s professional seal.
A pair of concentric circles, with a horizontal bar across the middle.
The upper half of the circle could enclose the ship’s name.
The lower half of the circle could enclose (a)the hailing port/country, or (b)the registration number.
The bar could be reserved for (a) the master’s signature/date, or (b) the registration no.
I wouldn’t clutter it up with too much information.
FWIW,
Gord

Kinda Like this?

This is the "Crew Stamp I came up with to use on the shirts I made for the "Crew". (Mostly the kiddies, but I like 'em too!)

You can see the shirt on this page : Last refit page with shirt

Is there companies that take artwork like this and make a embossing stamp out of it? That would be really fun to do.

Stamp in Caribbean

We have been down in the Caribbean for almost a year and have only met a few with stamps. We keep thinking about it. Mostly for guests that come on board.

The ones we have seen contain the Boats name, port and USCG doc # with and design. All of the counties we cleared in have not even looked for a stamp but at the orginal coast guard doc certifcate, passports and exit stamps from the previous countyr.
