Saba and dogs

Does anyone have recent experience taking a dog to Saba?

Noonsite says they require a rabies shot not less than 30days, which is the opposite of any other country. I've also read that customs doesn't care about dogs.

Anyone?

Re: Saba and dogs

Saba does not quarantine healthy pets who meet the following requirements:

Your pet must be vaccinated for rabies between 30 days and 12 months prior to entry.
A licensed veterinarian must complete the Certificate of Good Health for Saba. Although it is not required, we recommend that a USDA or CFIA licensed veterinarian complete the form and you have it endorsed by the USDA or CFIA if traveling from the United States or Canada. If you are traveling from another country, the Governing Agency responsible for the import and export of animals should endorse the forms for you.
A copy of the Rabies Certificate should also be included for endorsement.

This completes a pet passport for your dog or cat to enter Saba.

Cool, thanks Gord.

Still curious if anyone has recent experience, but I'm guessing that's a long shot for some reason

Re: Saba and dogs

Well we picked up a buoy the a couple of months ago with our dog, but forgot to check in so can't help. It seems pretty in line with the other islands though. Usually you can google for the dept of agriculture and find a vets number or email to confirm either way.
