North Carolina Documented boat owners read this

Most of you have gotten a little card in the mail saying we will now have to register our documented boats if they are in NC longer than 90 days. This will take effect Oct 1st. So they give us 2 weeks notice for this but what they do not mention is that if you get the reg before Oct 1st it will cost $40 for 3 years. If you wait till after Oct 1st it will cost you $150 for 3 years. big difference! Nice of them to let us know with 2 weeks notice and to forget to mention the price change.

Where do you see that fee increase? I just see the $40 on their form for the three years.

You will not see it in the forms as it does not take effect till the 1st but call and they will confirm. This is all part of a fee increase they passed this summer.

Yes, you are correct. I phoned NC Wildlife this morning and that is correct. I guess that means $150 more the next time I register the dinghy?

For vessels under 26 feet it will be $90 for 3 years or $30 per year.
